About Our Founder & Name
Founder and CEO, Victorino Moreira, M.A., has over a decades worth of experience working with young adults and their parental figures. He has done this via his career as an academic advisor at the college level and as an independent consultant. Victor strongly believes that all young adults and parental figures should have the opportunity to have affordable advising so that families and young adults can avoid unnecessary and costly mistakes with important decision making. This belief compelled Victor to create Older Cousin Advising.
The name Older Cousin Advising pays homage to the complete set of older cousins and family members that provided mentorship and direction to our founder (and his Mother) while he transitioned from high school to college and then from college to the workforce and to an advanced degree program. Victor and his mother, who is a single parent, appreciated and benefited from the sharing of knowledge that was given to them while going through his own transitions.
