How and Where Advising Happens
Advising sessions take the form of a casual and free flowing conversation. We want our clients to be as comfortable as possible and we feel that free flowing conversations ensure that. There are no clipboards and packets with preset questions. We consider our conversations to be safe zones where our clients can be as open and honest as possible. We encourage that because we want our advising to be extremely impactful and valuable. We do encourage our clients to take notes during our conversations especially when specific recommendations are given.
Our advising sessions takes place at coffee shops (such as Starbucks) that vary in location based upon your location and that of the Inland Empire of Southern California (The base of Older Cousin Advising). We opted not to use an office site because our Founder believes that this would adversely affect free flowing conversation and this practice also enables us to provide our services at an affordable cost. Our clients are welcome to order a drink and pastry and the cost is on us!
For current and future clients that have challenging schedules, are out of state, or challenges based on geographic location within California, we also provide advising sessions via phone or video conference.
